Board of Education Adopts Resolution Supporting Initiative 195

The Steamboat Springs Board of Education unanimously adopted a resolution supporting Initiative 195 during its June 8 meeting.

Initiative 195 is a proposed statewide ballot measure that would replace Colorado's flat income tax system with a graduated income tax structure. Supporters of the measure estimate it could generate additional funding for public education, health care, and early childhood education.

The Board's resolution cites the district's commitment to providing high-quality educational opportunities for students and the potential for additional state funding to support Colorado school districts.

Initiative 195 is expected to appear on the November 2026 ballot.
