This annual event highlights safer routes for walking and cycling in our community, emphasizes the importance of physical activity among children, promotes safety and educates students on trail etiquette and the rules of the road.

Participating is easy! Just walk or roll to school on Wednesday and look for pop-up locations throughout the day on local trails and at Butcherknife, Soda Creek, and Steamboat Springs High School.

Fun swag and giveaway items will be provided to students demonstrating safe walking/riding practices. In addition, tasty treats and goodies will ensure participants are fueled up for their journey.

Walk to School Day events raise awareness of the need to create safer routes for walking and bicycling and emphasize the importance of issues such as increasing physical activity among children, pedestrian safety, traffic congestion and concern for the environment. These events build connections between families, schools, and the broader community.
